The Baptism of the Holy Spirit - Dennie

 In the early 1970’s shortly after we were married, Diane and I experienced the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.  Needless to say our lives radically changed.  We were both raised in Christian homes always going to church, and we gave our hearts to Yeshua at an early age.  But after our experience with Father’s infilling, we not only became very hungry and zealous about the scriptures, but we saw Father’s hand moving in our lives with miraculous healings, deliverance, new discernment and prophetic gifts.  Of course there was a massive movement of Father’s Spirit that began in the late 60’s and early 70’s in the body of believers that included the Jesus people and charismatic movements.

It is interesting now to look back across the passing decades and reflect on the results in people’s lives.  Certainly the charismatic movement is still with us with its feel good theology.  Diane and I witnessed the steady changes that took place that eventually changed many churches into name it and claim it religion.  Other churches have stayed on some theological middle ground but have been neutered over time by materialism and the cares of this world.  Many mature believers have simply left churches and now seem to be sidelined in their effectiveness in Father’s kingdom.  How it must have grieved Father’s heart to see how man once again polluted His truth.  I’m sure this all fits the scripture that says we will have a form of godliness but deny the power.

It is somewhat sad to us to see that, because of false teaching and hypocrisy, we seem to have lost our children’s generation understanding the truths of what happened in the book of Acts and that each generation is expected to walk in it.  But hallelujah we believe this too will be restored in these last days.  Read the 60th chapter of Isaiah.
Isa 60:1  Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isa 60:2  For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Isa 60:3  And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

Diane and I certainly want to wake up and re-fan the gifts that Father has given us.  We encourage you to do the same.
